New for Spring 2014, I had high hopes for this collection..too high, as it turns out. I may or may not do a more in-depth review on this one , because sadly I just don’t feel they’re worth it! I do feel you should be informed before you go running to your nearest MAC store to buy this though ( I believe it will be in stores on the 3rd of this month)!So.. I just want to get it out there, and hence the difference in format for the post!
$24 (CAN) or $20 (USD)
I ordered these in 2 shades – Go For Girlie and Hopelessly Devoted :
Swatches were disappointing but I was willing to let that pass:
Go For Girlie
This is what it looks like on me ( L – With Flash , R – Without Flash):
It was patchy, kind of “patent” looking, but not really. Accentuated every dry spot I had ( AND then some that I didn’t even know I had) on my lips. This one was an instant DEEtest .
This was better:
The texture felt a lot better too and was actually comfortable to wear.Still, just very MEH. Nothing that “patent” about the finish, and the colours aren’t that unique either. The Revlon lip butters are SO much better than this and some of them look much shinier than this without even claiming to! Even the Rimmel colour rush balms are very good in comparison!
At 24$ I feel these are a complete waste of money and not the usual quality I’d expect from a MAC lipstick ( or any lipstick for that matter at that price). I would return these, if shipping them back wasn’t such a pain (online purchases made from maccosmetics.ca cannot be returned in store).
