That’s a mouthful just for the name of a lipstick isn’t it!! I had mentioned this lipstick as the reason for my amazing GWP last week ( or the week before that..time flies!). Looks like the promotion is still on on the Lancome site, if you want to take advantage of it.
I had been curious about the l’Absolu Rouge line for a while. One swatch of this colour later, I was sold !(or rather, the colour was sold to me ha ha!)
$35 (CAN) for 4g of product ( a regular MAC lipstick is around 19$ (CAN) for 3.5g, if you’re comparing)
My first impression of the tube was “elegant”. However I noticed that it has magnetic closure when I put the lipstick back in, and THAT I thought was pretty cool. You don’t have to worry about it opening by accident and it forms a nice tight seal. Elegant AND functional:) The lipstick itself has the Lancome logo embossed on it which is very pretty :
This is a full coverage lipstick that manages to not look like one. Full coverage lipsticks CAN look very heavy, but while this one is super pigmented, it doesn’t look /feel heavy.
You can also see it in my review on Guerlain’s Parure Lumiere foundation here, and I’m posting the pic below:
You can tell that it’s pretty full coverage.
Feels super light. Lancome claim that it has moisture-boosting Pro-Xylane which helps lips stay moist, soft and comfortable for up to 8 hours. I have to say, I agree – whole heartedly. The texture is pretty amazing on this one. I have really dry lips and this made my lips feel all soft and pretty, and the effected lasted for a while after it faded as well so it definitely has some moisturizing ingredients.
It stayed for around 4 hours on me and then started to fade slowly, but very evenly. This is something that matters to me, because I really dislike a patchy fade.

Holy Moly! This is one big fat ! Bought it on a whim, got an awesome GWP and I love this colour. This line has some really gorgeous reds and some equally gorgeous MLBB (My Lips But Better) and Coral shades. Highly recommend!
