If you read my post on MAC’s much awaited PatentPolish Lip pencil collection, you know I was not impressed . Call it a rebound – but these Annabelle lipbalms were shaped just like the MAC patent polish pencils and they were 1/5th the price. Who am I to resist  the lure of a look-a-lot-a-like-a chubby lipstick!

$4.79 CAD for 3.5g of product

I bought its in the shade strawberry  (and that’s exactly what it smells like as well :) ) :

The tip (and the whole packaging actually)reminds me of the MAC Patent Polish pencils  which if you remember look like this:

It’s pretty much what I expected from the pencil. At least Annabelle didn’t claim that it will look extra slick or “patent like” (ahem!cough! MAC).

It  can be built up to be much brighter. That’s just with one light coat.

It has a really smooth , “balmy” texture which kept my lips nicely moisturized. If I have to take points away  it’ll be because this shade had a tendency to migrate, but nothing too terrible.

Staying Power

It’s a balm – don’t expect miracles. But its easy enough to reapply without needing a mirror and lasted around 2.5- 3 hours on me ( without eating in between)

I cant help but compare these to the MAC Patent polish Pencils..which may not be fair, but they look similar and were released around the same time – I’m assuming that’s what Annabelle wants us to do!And ..they win, because they are  a DEElight at this price !( The MAC pencils are 24$ CAD for 2.3 g of product :|)And NO I don’t hate MAC – I just don’t like it when much -awaited collections are a let-down!!
