This has taken me so long to get to that I have SO many DEElights that are way more recent than these…these actually feel old now bahah! I got these about a month ago now when I was shopping for some competition makeup and just generally browsing around at my favourite mall here in Montreal . Here’s what I ended up getting …
And this little guy that I’ve always wanted to try :
MatchMaster Concealer (#6)
Yes we all know I have a slight obsession with makeup in stick form. I *had* to buy the matchmaster concealer stick. I swatched and swatched….and tried and tested and came away with #6. This is a little dark on me now I find, so the moral of the story there was don’t buy makeup when you are much darker than usual or on a no-carb diet and have trouble distinguishing betweens shades bahah. I kid! I kid!… I think I just went with what seemed like a better match then but alas..I was wrong. 5 was way too light on me though, so I guess I’m out of luck there.
Here are some swatches of the next few products that I bought :
ProLongwear Paint Pot in Let’s skate
Oooh this is a gorgeous one, it is. It looks like a light pink in the pot but its a beautful light *golden* pink when applied . Gorgeous as a highlight too.
(Mini) Pigments in Rose and Naked
I know I won’t ever get through a full size of their pigments so I bought the minis ( 12$ CAD/ 10$ USD each) in Naked and Rose which still contain so much product (2.5g vs the regular 7.5 g I believe) that I know I won’t get through these either. Both of these are GORGEOUS colours that can be layered or worn alone. They have a slight ducochrome effect and can look different depending on the angle. Like this:..
Or like this ( except the effect is more visible in person:( ) ..
Naked makes such a pretty highlight under the browbone. Layered over Let’s Skate, they both look amazing and last forever!
MAC PearlGlide Intense in Designer Purple
I love the MAC pearlglides and I love purple. They dont budge all day , are sooo smooth to apply and come in a myriad of colours …and then some. This one is a beautiful bright purple with flecks of gold ( and I think silver too!) . Sold! Bought! Done!
MAC DazzleGlass in Love Alert
Gorgeous “dazzling” red that looks oh-soooo-pretty in sunlight/flash photography. It is sticky like all MAC glosses but the wear time is decent for a gloss (around 3.5 hours on me) and it can be worn sheer, layered over other colours or built up for opacity.
MAC 130 Short Duo Fibre Brush
This one has natural and synthetic bristles ( hence the “duo fibre” in the name) and is soft as a..petal!! ( I wanted to say babys butt but somehow that just didn’t sound right in this context). It applies liquid foundations like a dream – yet to try it on other types but for liquids it is ah-mazing!
For comparison here it is against other “similar” brushes that I have:
And a shot of the bristles on them:
I was sure it would be like my Elf Brush and they *do* look so very similar:
But I can assure you they are not …at all similar!! The Elf brush is really quite scratchy by comparison and doesnt blend foundation well ..I just use it to place my highlighter. It’s OK for spongy blushes that just need to be pressed on but …yes quite scratchy. Funnily enough I don’t remember thinking that it was particularly uncomfortable until I tried the MAC 130! The Pur Minerals Liquid Chisel Brush ( or complexion perfection brush) is pretty soft but does shed a little and is better on powders oddly enough and contrary to it’s name ( in my experience). It is denser than the MAC 130 and just..not the same!! The MAC brush seems to blend everything out so prefectly , so fast that it just looks like beautiful skin and I find the foundation lasts longer too when I apply it with this brush!
I pretty much used all the above products ( including the brush, but minus the concealer and liner) for my competition makeup:
As it looked in more natural lighting and a crappy camera..
I also used some of my beloved CRC products for a base, but mainly used MAC products for the rest of the face this time.
ProLongWear blush in Make You Mine
Blushes…. I had to have Make you Mine after reading the stellar reviews on Temptalia ( and feeling it swatch like a dream!) . This is such a pretty neutral colour ( on my NC40..42 skin tone). Just the right amount of earth tones to be very very flattering and easy to wear. It really does have an amazingly silky soft texture that makes application a breeze! It lasts about 7 hours on me and can be layered as needed for intensity.
MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Plum Foolery
This is a classic…everyone probably already has this, but Ive wanted it for a while and am happy to have it now:) It’s a beautiful shade of plum with some shimmer that is sooo pretty for the Fall. It wears super smoothly and doesn’t make my pores any more visible. It’s a sheertone blush but its pretty pigmented on me. Love it !
I have so many things to share with you …the Sephora VIB Rouge hauls…the hauls from NYC, some more CRC products that I’ve been loving and wanting to review…and a new and exciting collaboration that I hope will be just as useful as it will be fun! I’ve just been bogged down by work and other things
I hope all has been well with you guys!! If you aren’t already please follow me on Instagram and Twitter and/ or Bloglovin so you get updates much faster. Most active on …Instagram – it’s just so darn quick and easy and fun!! Now
